Informationen about the digital summer semester 2020

Information about the digital summer semester 2020 and the influence on the here described processes is available here.

Currently, it is unfortunately not possible to issue new Student IDs as they can only be printed in the main building of TU Berlin due to technical reasons. The card issuing office („Kartenausgabestelle“) is affected by the closure of the building. However, you can continuously apply for your Student ID online via your student portal. It will be issued and sent to you as soon as the staff members of the card issuing office resume their work. This regards the initial issuance, re-issuance as well as the exchange issuance of Student IDs.

Semester ticket

Due to the closure of all buildings of TU Berlin, there is no reason for students to use the public transportation in the course if their studies. After consultation with the “VBB Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg”, it was agreed that in case you currently don‘t have a valid Student ID with the electronic semester ticket, you have to buy the tickets for private rides at your own expense.

Special regulation for new students:

After consultation with the “VBB Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg”, it was agreed that you can use a printed student certificate for summer semester 2020 as a ticket for public transport in fare zones A, B and C until May 31 2020. Further information you will find on the website of the VBB.

Please show the printed student certificate for summer semester 2020 and your ID card / passport in case of a ticket inspection.

In case of further questions about the semester ticket, please contact the semester ticket office.

Thank you for your understanding.
